Winnower

Overview

The Winnower is a winnowing system for cocoa processing that uses a two-stage crushing process with two impact crushers to deliver maximum total yield. It features high-capacity sieving with 3 to 7 sieve decks and integrated shell aspiration to minimize fines and provide precise control for beans of any origin. Compact winnowing systems have 3 sieve decks, medium sized ones offer 5 sieve decks and high throughput ones incorporate 7 sieve decks. A swing-out aspiration box lifts to provide immediate access to the sieves for sieve changes, cleaning and maintenance. Automatic parameterization (vacuum control) enables maintenance of efficient separation regardless of varying product throughput or the condition of the sieves, and separation settings can be reproduced and optimized by up to 9 measurement points and by making breaker speed adjustments. Sieve dimensions can be matched to production capacity to ensure efficient separation of nibs from shells.
