Xsample 530

Overview

The Xsample 530 is a multi-sample changer described as "the multi-sample changer with the highest cleaning performance" and carries part number 230332. It handles up to 71 samples and offers optional sample recovery, automated cleaning and drying with up to three solvents, and measurement of volatile samples. The unit supports controlled filling power and fills samples from plain water to highly viscous oils (up to 36,000 mPa.s). Removable magazines include a 71-position magazine for 12 mL vials and two 35-position magazines for 40 mL or 20 mL vials, and customized magazines are available on request; the 71-position magazine can be exchanged with one hand. Automatic rinsing and drying occur after each sample, active needle cleaning is performed inside and outside, and up to three cleaning agents can be used in any order; rinse consumption per cycle is approx. 4 mL. Minimum sample volume per measurement is approx. 3 mL (with master instrument DMA™ M) depending on system configuration, and sample throughput is max. 9 per hour depending on application and used pressure source. Filling modes include pressure mode with integrated piston pump, with air pump of the master instrument, or with compressed air; suction mode is optional and automatic filling and draining is sensor-controlled. Operation with 2 bar external compressed air: 12.000 mPa·s at ambient and measuring temperature; 36.000 mPa·s at ambient and measuring temperature. Optional compressed air supply: 1.80 bar – 2.20 bar (26 psi – 32 psi) relative, typically 2.0 bar (29 psi) rel.; required air quality is Class 3 from ISO 8573-1 with max. particle size: 5 μm, max. pressure dew point: -20°C (-4°F), and max. oil content: 1 mg/m3. Environmental and installation specifications state indoor use only, air humidity 10 to 90% relative non-condensing, operating temperature +15 to +35 °C (+59 to +95 °F), power supplied by the master instrument with mains voltage according to the master instrument type plate (protective grounding required), and dimensions excl. master instrument (L x W x H): 370 mm x 490 mm x 430 mm (14.6 in x 19.3 in x 17 in) with weight excl. master instrument approx. 48 kg (105.8 lbs).
