Overview

GEOTOME DUAL (Ref. 62830). Price on request. The instrument has two working zones: one dedicated to cutting, preparing and thinning rock samples and the other dedicated to grinding thin sections. The cutting side accepts all diamond discs to a diameter of 250mm and uses a manual-movement longitudinal table for cutting and sample preparation. Once the cube is glued to the thin section, thinning can be performed to a fixed or variable measurement using a mobile or non-mobile vacuum vice that fixes onto the table. The grinding area allows pre-polishing of up to 4 thin sections simultaneously, with samples held by a vacuum sample rack and rectified by a 175mm diameter diamond head cup wheel with resinoid, metallic or vitrified binder.
