The Fluid Bed Dryer is designed for fast and uniform drying of powders, crystals and medium sized pellets. Fresh air is drawn in by a fan, passed through a filter and heated by electric heaters, then passed through the product container which has diffuser plates and a sieve; the resulting air stream fluidises the wet product and dries it by heat transfer, while moist air passes through a filter bag and an exhaust duct. If the product contains a solvent or inflammable substances, the dryer must be operated using steam and provided with a flame-proof motor. The Fluid Bed Dryer is not suitable for drying of liquids or pastes. Used for drying powders, crystals and medium sized pellets in Pharmaceuticals, Bulk Drugs, Dyes & Chemicals, Phyto-Chemicals, Catalysts, Food Products & Starch derivatives and Pesticides. Because the product is in close contact with drying air at a low temperature and for a short duration, the equipment achieves high production rates with reduced drying time, is suitable for heat-sensitive products, and minimizes lump formation or case hardening.
