WRM

Overview

The WRM is an AC resonant test system with variable inductance and a modular insulating case. It generates a continuous sinusoidal high voltage by using the resonance between the capacitive test object and the inductive HV reactor. The natural resonance frequency of the test circuit is matched to the feed-in frequency by setting the variable inductance of the HV reactor. The modular concept enables the reactors to be connected in series or in parallel to extend the range of voltage and/or current. - Low level of partial discharge < 2 pC - Extremely high test voltages enabled by cascading high voltage modules - High variability of voltage and power parameters via single, series, or parallel operation of high voltage modules - Low supply power due to a high-quality resonance reactor - Ideal sinusoidal test voltage provided by a series resonant circuit - Low noise level attributed to special mechanical design - Low maintenance operation over the entire service life of the test system For routine testing of high and ultra-high voltage cables up to 800 kV in accordance with IEC 60840 and IEC 62067. For inspection testing of high and ultra-high voltage cables and cable assemblies up to 1600 kV in accordance with IEC 60840 and IEC 62067. For applied voltage testing of power transformers up to 1600 kV in accordance with IEC 60076. For testing of gas-insulated switchgears up to 1600 kV in accordance with IEC 62271-203. For testing of voltage transformers, including testing with higher frequencies and performing dynamic tests up to 1600 kV in accordance with IEC 60044.
