NEX QC

Overview

NEX QC is an energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) analyzer described as very compact and easy to carry. It incorporates an internal data-analysis computer and an internal sample printer. Primary components include a 4 W-50 kV X-ray tube, an SDD detector (QC+), a Si-PIN detector (QC), and an internal sample spinner/printer, with optional 5 / 6 position autosampler and a single-position sample spinner. Operation is via a touch-panel style user interface and the system provides LIMS data transfer capability plus USB and Ethernet connectivity. The 50 kV X-ray tube can measure elements from Na (11) to U (92) and quantitative analysis is performed using calibration curve methods; control is provided by an internal computer running NEX QC software. Product dimensions are 331 (W) x 376 (H) x 432 (D) mm, mass approximately 16 kg (main unit), and power requirement single-phase 100/220 VAC 50/60 Hz, 1.4 A. The NEX QC is intended for elemental analysis of a range of sample types including solids, liquids, slurries, plating, RPF, alloys, powders and thin films. Documented application notes for the product include specific analyses such as: XRF3036 — sulfur (S) and chlorine (Cl) in oil; XRF3035 — lubricating oil analysis based on ASTM D6481; XRF3034 — IPBC wood treatment solution analysis; XRF3033 — ACZA wood preservative analysis; XRF3032/XRF3031/XRF3030 — Zr/Cr/Ti conversion coatings on aluminum plates; XRF3029 — titanium (Ti) and iron (Fe) in kaolin; XRF3028 — Fe2O3 in quartz sand; XRF3022 — chlorine (Cl) in RPF/plastics; XRF3021 — sulfur (S) in light oil; XRF3020 — sulfur (S) in crude oil/heavy oil; and XRF3009 — Si coating amount on paper and plastics.
