V22 Precision Machining Center

Overview

The V22 Precision Machining Center is designed to eliminate vibration, rotational deflection and thermal distortion to ensure precision, accuracy, reliability and excellent stability. It features a standard 11.3-hp continuous 40,000-rpm spindle complemented by Makino’s core-cooling and under-race lubrication system. Machine construction includes integrally casted slideways and no overhangs for excellent rigidity and dampening characteristics, and a table surface height of 900mm with a swing control panel that rotates 180 degrees. Table dimensions are 450 x 350 mm with X: 320 mm Y: 280 mm Z: 300 mm travels, a maximum workpiece envelope of 450 x 475 x 200 mm, and a maximum payload of 100 kg. Spindle taper is HSK-E32; rapid traverse is 20,000 mm/min; cutting feedrate is 10,000 mm/min; ATC capacity is 30 (60 opt) with an 8 sec tool-to-tool time, maximum tool diameter 32 mm and maximum tool weight 0.5 kg. Power consumption is 15 kVA, reduced by approximately half. The V22 is designed to machine complex materials, including ceramics, and to machine intricate cores and cavities. Its machining area is described as ideal for small workpieces and the compact footprint wastes no floor space. Rapid traverse and high cutting feedrate boost productivity by reducing out-of-cut time and increasing metal-removal rates, and an optional hybrid automatic tool length measuring device measures and corrects the tool tip position and that of the rotating spindle nose to achieve superior machined surfaces with minimal level differences.
