PFN Bell Furnace Plasma Furnace

Overview

Plasma nitriding furnace with a bell-type chamber that lifts vertically off a base plate, enabling overhead crane loading of heavy workpieces. Produces diffusion layers with or without compound (white) layers on metal components to increase surface hardness. Useful treatment area is 800 x 1200 mm, placing it among the larger plasma nitriding chambers and accommodating tall components that box-type furnaces cannot accept. Cycle time varies in relation to the requested nitriding depth. Optional Active Screen configuration (designated 2017) is available. Used for surface hardening of industrial metal components in automotive, aircraft, hydraulic systems, textile machinery, molds and dies, and tooling environments. The bell design and large treatment area support overhead crane loading of heavy, tall workpieces in production settings where part geometry or mass favors bell furnaces over box-type units. Nitriding depth is selected to meet specification requirements, with cycle time adjusted accordingly. Operations may specify the Active Screen option to align with preferred process configuration.
