HT1600-DS

Overview

The HT1600-DS furnace is designed to perform impulse excitation measurements at elevated temperatures up to 1600 °C in an air atmosphere or optionally with an inert gasflow, and it can accommodate 2 samples simultaneously. Internal dimensions are Width: 148 mm, Depth: 208 mm, Height: 176 mm, with a maximum sample length of 160 mm and bottom load sample loading. Heating is provided by 8 MoSi2 heating elements; temperature control supports heating and cooling rates of 1 1 5 °C/min; insulation material is Al2O3 (PCW); the furnace wall is cooled by a water jacket. Positioning of the excitation system and the microphone is adjustable, and a dilatometer can be optionally mounted to measure linear expansion simultaneously with other measurements. The HT1600-DS is used to perform impulse excitation measurements to determine elastic properties and damping as a function of temperature, with measurements performed in predefined intervals during heating and cooling at 1 1 5 °C/min. It supports simultaneous testing of 2 samples in air or optionally with an inert gas flow and allows optional simultaneous measurement of linear expansion when a dilatometer is mounted. Adjustable excitation system and microphone positioning together with bottom loading enable optimized sample configuration and manipulation during these measurements.
