FR-E800 Series VFDs

Overview

FR-E800 Series VFDs provide multiple control methods in a single drive and support switching between control methods to reduce required spare VFDs. Positioning under Vector control is available and cumulative pulse monitoring is supported. Positioning uses a point table method; position data (target position, speed, acceleration/deceleration time) can be set in parameters and positioning is possible for up to 7 points with selection of point table numbers via external interface signals; continuous positioning is possible. PM sensorless vector control is available for use with PM motors, and PM motor offline auto tuning enables sensorless operation of other manufacturers' PM motors (tuning may be disabled depending on the motor characteristics). The FR-E800 supports plug-in options including FR-A8AP E kit for Vector control and encoder feedback control; available plug-in options listed in the product information are: FR-A8AX E kit: 16-bit digital input; FR-A8AY E kit: Digital output, additional analog output; FR-A8AR E kit: Relay output; FR-A8AP E kit: Vector control, encoder feedback control; FR-E8DS E kit: 24VDC input; FR-A8NC E kit: CC-Link; FR-A8ND E kit: DeviceNet; FR-A8NP E kit: PROFIBUS-DP. The FR-E800 can be configured for Vector control for lift applications when the FR-A8AP E kit plug-in option is used. Advanced magnetic flux vector control is identified for conveyors. Cumulative pulse monitoring and the point-table positioning function enable accurate transfer of glass or PET bottles to a filling position. PM sensorless vector control allows high-speed operation up to the rated speed without torque reduction compared with a stepper motor, enabling improved tact time and enabling positioning control without using an encoder when used with PM motors.
