120kV Digital DC Hipot Tester

Overview

The 120kV Digital DC Hipot Tester (catalog number 8120PL-5A-DI) is an economical solution for DC field testing and can test up to 120 kV with a load current maximum of 0.005 A; weight 127 lb. The controller is outfitted with a rugged field case and the high voltage transformer is inside a steel tank, and the unit is complete from input line cord to high voltage output cable. Voltage measurements are taken directly at the output of the high voltage transformer while current is measured at the return leg, providing accurate kilovoltmeter readings regardless of load current. The unit includes a 7" color touchscreen display with adjustable brightness, internal memory for recorded test results, an internal discharge solenoid, HIPODirect Mobile App compatibility via WIFI Direct for viewing, sharing and uploading test reports and firmware updates, USB transfer, adjustable test parameters (target voltage, maximum leakage current, ramp rate, dwell time), multiple measurements including output voltage, leakage current, insulation resistance (IR) and polarization index (PI), and safety features including interlock and emergency stop. Intended for DC field testing of cables, terminations, motors, generators and other electrical apparatus. The tester is described as portable and rugged, making it suitable for field or factory use.
