VTL Series Vertical Turning Centers

Overview

VTL Series Vertical Turning Centers feature a high-rigidity box-type column firmly anchored to the machine bed and a symmetrical machine layout that enhances thermal balance and reduces thermal deformation. The machines use a wide box guideway design with guideway surfaces hardened to HRC56 or higher for wear resistance. Mating sliding surfaces are coated with Turcite B to reduce friction, improve motion accuracy, and reduce stick-slip. Spindle designs vary by model: the VTL-350, VTL-450, VTL-750A, VTL-760, and VTL-950 models use a combination of double-row cylindrical roller bearings and angular contact thrust ball bearings, while the VTL-1100 incorporates a robust thrust bearing design engineered to withstand significantly higher axial loads. The series offers spindle configurations optimized for speed, rigidity, or load capacity to match different production requirements. The turret uses a large-diameter curvic coupling to provide clamping rigidity and indexing accuracy, supporting stable machining, improved surface finishes, and reliable long-term operation. VTL models can be equipped with a range of automation options that enable high-speed part handling and continuous production with minimal operator intervention.
