Plow Tilt-A-Mix

Overview

Plow Tilt-A-Mix is a batch plow mixer offered in 4, 10, 20, 40, 60 and 90 liter sizes on mobile stainless steel bases. Product-contact surfaces are 316L stainless steel as standard with other stainless and nickel alloys available as options. The design includes Sanitary S-Clamp and I-Line connections on charging and discharge ports to support sanitary processing and straightforward piping integration. The mixer features a patented Tilt-A-Mix tilting mechanism to assist charging and discharge, removable agitator blades (except on heated shaft designs), and a high-speed “chopping mill” option for de-lumping or particle size reduction. Discharge heads are removable on 4 liter and some 20 liter units; 20 thru 90 liters are equipped with hinged discharge heads to facilitate emptying and cleaning. Sealing choices include stuffing boxes, air seals, or double faced mechanical seals to accommodate different containment and product-compatibility needs. Units can be jacketed with 75 PSIG stainless steel jackets for heating or cooling, and a range of instrumentation and control packages is available for process monitoring and automation integration. Designed for small-batch industrial mixing where flexible positioning, easy cleaning and thermal control are required, the Plow Tilt-A-Mix is suited to pilot-scale production, R&D labs, and small production runs handling cohesive or shear-sensitive materials. The 4–90 liter capacity range supports scaling from laboratory trials to limited production batches without changing mixer technology. Configuration choices enable specific operational workflows: removable blades and removable/hinged discharge heads speed product changeover and cleaning; the chopping mill option provides in-line de-lumping or size reduction; 75 PSIG jackets enable controlled heating or cooling steps; and multiple seal options allow selection based on containment or solvent exposure. Available instrumentation and control packages permit integration into automated process lines or standalone batch control systems.
