Overview

The ByCut is a fiber laser cutting machine for sheet metal processing with intelligent software and automated processes designed for seamless integration into production, delivering high availability, low operating costs, and high cutting performance. Nominal sheet size options are 120 x 60 in (3015) and 160 x 80 in (4020); laser power range is 3 - 30 kW with a maximum laser power of 30 kW; maximum simultaneous positioning speed is 6,681 in/min for both 3015 and 4020; maximum workpiece weight is 3,417 lbs (3015) and 4,189 lbs (4020). Material and thickness capabilities include Stainless Steel Cutting Thickness (max.): 1.57 in, general sheet processing up to 1.97 in (except non-ferrous metals), and the Quality Cut Package enables reliable cutting of up to 1.18 in structural steel. Five individually combinable configuration packages are offered: Autonomy Package (automatic nozzle changer; Detection Eye with up to 90% less setup time; NCT & KerfScan; optional Intelligent Cutting Process), Power Package (MixGas technology), Quality Cut Package (BeamShaper technology), Dynamic Package (linear drive technology and intelligent CNC control), and Convenience Package (Parameter Wizard; LiveStream cameras; second control panel; additional small access door). Control and software features include BySoft Cell Control Cut with a 21.5 inch touchscreen and more than 10,000 predefined customizable standard processes, and BySoft Suite for digitalized production control; Bystronic also provides trained service experts, maintenance and repair, upgrades, and a 360° Customer Advisor service to analyze production and optimize processes. The ByCut is intended for flexible sheet metal processing covering simple and complex cutting requirements and supports cutting of structural steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals with sheet thicknesses up to 1.97 in (except non-ferrous metals) and stainless steel cutting to 1.57 in; the Quality Cut Package extends reliable structural steel cutting to 1.18 in. It is designed for integration into existing automation systems and for unmanned operation, with automation solutions for optimal utilization and maximum reliability and with remote monitoring via LiveStream cameras plus BySoft Cell Control Cut touchscreen and handheld control for operator interaction.
