Overview

A mesh belt conveyor furnace is a continuous, production-line thermal-processing furnace that conveys parts through a heated chamber on a woven/open-mesh conveyor. The mesh belt provides a permeable support surface that permits convective and radiant heat transfer around parts while carrying them at controlled line speed through sequential heating zones. Typical mechanical features include a driven conveyor with tensioning and tracking hardware, inlet and exit sections for load/unload integration, and a series of discrete heating zones that establish a controlled temperature profile along the belt path. Control and automation interfaces are provided to manage belt speed and the temperature of individual zones to produce repeatable thermal cycles and throughput. Installation requires appropriate process utilities and facilities-level interfaces (electrical power for drives and heaters, and exhaust/venting or process-gas connections where atmospheres are used). Routine service considerations include mesh-belt inspection and replacement, drive and tracking maintenance, heater element or burner servicing, and access for zone-level instrumentation and controls. Used where continuous, high-throughput thermal processing is required: typical applications include heat treatment, brazing/soldering, drying/curing, and continuous annealing or tempering operations for small-to-medium parts and assemblies. The open mesh belt makes the furnace suitable for parts that benefit from free gas and heat flow around features, for both bare metal and coated components. Configuration is often process-driven: manufacturers specify belt mesh/opening, number and length of heating zones, belt speed control range and atmosphere capability (ambient, forced-air, reducing/inert) to match cycle requirements and line integration. These furnaces are commonly integrated inline with upstream feeding and downstream cooling or inspection stations in automotive, metal finishing, electronics assembly, sintered-parts, and general industrial manufacturing lines where consistent part-to-part thermal uniformity and continuous throughput are decision-critical.
