Model Overview & Specs

Overview

The Multilin EPM 6000 Power Meter is a revenue-grade panel meter that provides 0.2% (ANSI/IEC) accuracy and meets ANSI C12.20 (0.2%) and IEC 687 (0.2%) accuracy classes with 0.2% Watt-hour accuracy. It performs True RMS multifunction measurements including Voltage, Current, Power, Frequency, Energy, and harmonic distortion. The meter includes a 3 line 0.56" bright LED display and a load percentage graphical bar for instant load visualization. The unit is future field upgradeable and offers user programmable system voltages and current measurement options. Communications include a built-in infra-red (IrDA) port plus two independent communication ports, with the second port factory selectable as either an RS485 port (Modbus ASCII, Modbus RTU, or DNP 3.0; Baud rates 9600 to 57.6 kbaud) or an Ethernet port (10/100BaseT RJ45, Modbus TCP). Software options listed include EnerVista Launchpad, Viewpoint Monitoring, and EnerVista Integrator. The meter fits standard ANSI cutouts or DIN mounting and mounts directly in ANSI C39.1 (4" round form) or IEC 92mm DIN square form with a 4.25" panel depth. Current input wiring supports two methods: CT pass through that adds no burden to the CT secondary, and an ultra-rugged stud-based termination (“Gills”) that eliminates terminal blocks and prevents CT opening under fault conditions. The EPM 6000T is a transducer configuration without a display and with a DIN rail mount; GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions has discontinued sales of EPM 6000T. The Multilin Meter Enclosure option is factory pre-wired, carries a two-year warranty, and is NEMA1 tested and UL/CUL certified, and is listed as compatible with GE Vernova EPM 2000/6010/6000/7000 meters. Documented applications include continuous metering and uptime monitoring of electrical loads such as in industrial switchgear and generator panels. The meter supports local indication and remote metering through its communications options to provide asset uptime and energy management planning data. It is specified for establishing a baseline of energy consumption of specific areas in low and medium voltage applications. The EPM6000T transducer configuration is described as ideal for switchgear retrofit applications where access to the meter face and display is not necessary and where budgets are a large consideration. The Multilin Meter Enclosure option is presented as a pre-wired, installation-ready solution for retrofit expansions and small-scale meter installations that allows expansion of existing switchgear capability without system downtime and claims cost savings of up to 200% versus addition of a new switchgear cabinet.
