Model Overview & Specs

Overview

The Spectra L is an Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (EB-PBF) machine that offers the largest build volume of our EB-PBF machines. Build volume: 350 x 430 mm (Ø/H). Beam Power: 4.5kW. Available Powders and Parameters: Ti6Al4v Grade 5, P-Material; Ti6Al4V Grade 23, P-Material. The machine provides an EB-LPB feature to tightly stack parts for mass production without compromising on quality. EB-PBF allows building free-floating parts in semi-sintered powder, with supports used primarily for heat equalization and easily removed after the build. An improved melt process produces enhanced surface finish and consistent material properties for thin and bulky geometries. EBM Point Melt melts metal powder point by point instead of lines, enabling more accurate temperature control, reduced temperature gradients, improved surface quality, simpler support structures, and additional scanning strategies such as multiple exposures to better control microstructure, especially in the z-direction. The Spectra L supports mass production of parts and the production of large, high-integrity parts by combining a large build volume with the EB-LPB stacking capability. It enables building free-floating parts in semi-sintered powder where supports are primarily for heat equalization and are easily removed after the build. Point Melt permits scanning strategies such as multiple exposures to improve surface quality, simplify support structures, and better control microstructure in the z-direction.
