Fully-automatic volumetric titration system with precise control of titration parameters by special control algorithms, preset measurement methods for an immediate start, and adjustable result output via a formula generator. Supported test methods and related characteristics include: TAN/TBN by potentiometric titration in an anhydrous medium with user-entered sample weight and controlled titration speed (conforms to ASTM D664, D2896, D4739; ISO 6619, 3771); H2S and mercaptan sulfur by volumetric titration with silver nitrate in an anhydrous medium producing Ag2S and silver mercaptides (conforms to ASTM D3227; ISO 3012; UOP 163, UOP 212); bromine index/number by potentiometric titration in an anhydrous medium with user-entered sample weight (conforms to ASTM D974, D1159, D2710, D3242, D5776; ISO 6618, 3839); carbonate and bicarbonate hardness by volumetric titration with sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid (0.01  0.1 mol/L) (conforms to ASTM D1121, ISO 10539). For H2S and mercaptan sulfur determination the instrument is applied to fuels (gasoline, kerosines, aviation turbine fuels), volatile distillates, middle distillates, liquified petroleum gas (LPG), hydrocarbon gases, liquid hydrocarbons, naphtha (petroleum), low boiling oils, and light and heavy cycle oils. For bromine index and number determinations the titrator is used with petroleum distillates, kerosine, gasoline (Including Leaded, Unleaded, & Oxygenated Fuels), distillates in the gas oil range, commercial propylene trimer and tetramer, butene dimer, mixed nonenes, octenes, heptenes, and olefin-free hydrocarbons or mixtures; for carbonate and bicarbonate hardness it is used with drinking water, surface water, seawater, technical waters, boiler water, and cooling water.
