Overview

The KELLENBERGER K100 is a universal cylindrical grinding machine offered with multiple configuration options. Centre width (workpiece length) options are 600 / 1'000 / 1'700 mm and centre height options are 200 / 250 mm; workpiece diameter capacity is < 400 / <500 mm and workpiece weight between centers is 100 / 150 / 200kg. Supply voltage is 400 / 460 V and power consumption depending on the equipment is 35 A - 80 A; length x width options are 2.7m x 2.2m / 3.4m x 2.2m and total weight options are 3'600 / 4'100 / 5'100 kg. Table/slide Z-axis travel range is 760 / 1'150 / 1'180 mm with feed rate speed 20 000 mm/min and scale resolution 0.00001 mm; cross slide X-axis travel range is 370 mm with feed rate speed 10'000 mm/min and scale resolution 0.00001 mm. External grinding supports grinding wheel dimensions Ø 400 x 63 mm / Ø 500 x 100 mm driven by an 11.5 kW water-cooled motor with peripheral speeds 50 / 63 m/s; internal grinding bore of the holder is Ø 150 mm with HF spindles up to 15 kW and max. rotational speeds 90 000 min-1. The machine is equipped with Fanuc 31i-B CNC control and a 19″ touch display running BLUE Solution; turned parts B1 specifications include a swivel range of 280 degree, swivel speed 20 l/min, automatic indexing resolution 1 degree and encoder resolution 0.00001 degree. Workpiece headstock types are Standard 100 / Direct 200 with speed range 1 - 1 000 min-1 and mounting cone MT5; tailstock mounting cone is MT4 with stroke 49 mm and precision adjustment ±30 / ±175 µm. Additional technical details include load when working with a chuck 100 / 200 / 320 Nm, external short taper ISO 702-1 Gr. 5 with roundness accuracy for fly grinding 0.4 / 0.2 µm and encoder resolution 0.0001 degree. The KELLENBERGER K100 is presented for a range of grinding operations including external grinding and internal grinding with direct-drive HF spindles up to 90 000 min-1. The machine supports non-circular/out-of-round grinding capabilities via a C-axis with direct drive and software options such as AppOutOfRound (CAPTO) and gSHAPE (with DXF import) listed as options. It is designed for workpieces smaller than Ø 500 mm x 1700 mm and can handle workpieces between centres up to 200 kg (overhung up to 200 kg), and the synchronous tailstock allows complete machining of shafts without a driver. Guided programming and retooling via BLUE Solution on the 19″ touchscreen and the Fanuc 31i-B control are provided to assist inexperienced operators.
