Overview

Nordson EFD UltimusPlus™ fluid dispensers are high-precision benchtop fluid dispensing units with Ethernet compatibility using NX protocol via TCP/IP for networked operation. The dispensers accept fluids dispensed with syringe barrels manually or on automated systems. The product family includes UltimusPlus I and UltimusPlus II models with touchscreen control and an internal digital dispense log that records dispense time, dispense pressure, vacuum applied, and date/time stamps; log files are downloadable via USB or FTP as CSV. UltimusPlus I features a 0.7-7.0 bar (10-100 psi) pressure regulator and UltimusPlus II features a 0.02-1.0 bar (0.3-15 psi) pressure regulator. Factory and control features include proprietary self-calibrating technology that ensures the set air pressure equals the pressure supplied to the syringe barrel and supports first-shot accuracy, full operator lockout of time, pressure, and vacuum settings, an export library, MultiShot, and barcode scanner functionality. Supported software and interfaces include Nordson NX Client Application, UltimusPlus I-II v2.32, and an intuitive web interface that matches the local interface. Manual applications: touchscreen control simplifies setup and operation and the dispenser is used with syringe barrels to make accurate, controlled deposits; full operator lockout of time, pressure, and vacuum settings prevents operator-to-operator variability. The UltimusPlus I is described as ideal for dispensing a wide range of fluids, while UltimusPlus II provides greater control for low-viscosity or thin fluids. Automated and networked applications: NX capability and Ethernet (TCP/IP) allow remote monitoring and control from a personal computer, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), or plant controller. The Nordson NX Client Application can send dispenser settings (registers) to the unit and receive feedback for troubleshooting, and the web interface enables programming and remote monitoring from devices such as tablets, personal computers, or mobile devices. Process documentation: the internal digital dispense log automatically records dispense data (time, pressure, vacuum, date/time) and can be downloaded as a CSV via USB or FTP for process verification and analysis.
