Slim5n

Overview

Slim5n is a compact Vertical Machining Center in the Slim series designed with a focus on milling while also providing drill and tap capability. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) design techniques were employed to optimize structural rigidity and torsional stiffness, and the machine structural configuration is a closed frame type with a pair of long supporting columns. Spindle options are 16,000 rpm and optional 8,000 rpm with an HSK-A50 taper, and spindle characteristics described include rigidity, constant pre-load, multi-plane balancing, minimum vibration and reduced thermal growth; the standard 26 tool ATC magazine provides fast and reliable indexing with an armless, direct tool pick and an integral door. The coolant system is configured with nozzle and flush coolant, the work zone incorporates sloped surfaces for chip evacuation, a lift up chip conveyor is included at the rear, and auto doors are included with robot interface available as an option.
