Overview

Benchtop Thrust Washer Tester models K93692 (220V 50/60Hz 3 Ph) and K93693 (440V 50/60Hz 3 Ph) conform to the specifications of ASTM D3702. The tester uses an AC servo motor with dynamic closed loop speed control for accurate speed control up to 2000 RPM and applies axial force up to 400 kg through an integrated pneumatic servo closed loop loading system. Friction force between the rotating specimen and the stationary disc is measured by a digital load cell mounted in a precise location, while temperature, normal load, frictional torque, coefficient of friction and drive torque are acquired online by the data acquisition system; data can be exported via USB 3.0. The instrument includes an integrated industrial grade PC with Data Acquisition Software and a 15 inch multi-touch control panel, an integrated temperature control module, dynamic load control system, safety interlocks for speed, temperature, load and friction force, and a robust structure design; included accessories are Set Of Hand Tools, Connecting Cables, Data Acquisition Card, Data Acquisition Software, Operating & Maintenance Manual, Calibration & Test Reports Of Sensors and a Digital Micrometer. The K93692/K93693 Automated Thrust Washer Tester is used to determine the equilibrium rate of wear and the coefficient of friction of materials in rubbing contact using a thrust washer specimen configuration as per ASTM D3702. Tests are performed with the upper specimen rotated up to 2000 RPM while applying an axial force up to 400 kg via the servo pneumatic closed loop loading mechanism, with friction force measured by a digital load cell and temperature, normal load, frictional force, coefficient of friction and RPM recorded by the online data acquisition software.
