Model Overview & Specs

Overview

The NETZSCH CFS/HD-S High-efficiency Fine Classifier is a high efficiency air classifier developed for ultra-fine, sharp separation and is often used in conjunction with grinding plants. It achieves finenesses up to d97 2.5 µm (based on limestone) and uses an optimized classifier wheel geometry to produce the finest cut points and high yields not possible with production-scale conventional air classifiers that have only one classifier wheel. The machine features a horizontal shaft, a welded classifier housing with a hinged door for fast, easy cleaning and maintenance, and a spiral housing for optimum coarse material orientation; a guide vane ring with adjustable vanes provides efficient dispersion of the feed product prior to classification. The classifier wheel includes an exchangeable, simultaneously rotating immersion tube for unlimited adjustment to highest finenesses, the gap between the classifier wheel and fines outlet is rinsed by gas to prevent oversize material in the fine fraction, and the classifier shaft seal is rinsed by compressed gas to protect the bearings; the shaft bearing is permanently grease sealed or oil lubricated for hot gas applications. The machine provides extremely sharp separation with even load of the classifier wheel through a rotationally symmetrical design, yields reproducible results, and is available in optional designs that are pressure shock resistant, gas tight, or wear protected. The CFS/HD-S is described as being used for ultra-fine, sharp separation and is often employed in conjunction with grinding plants. Explicitly listed application materials include Graphite, Metals, Pigments / Dyes, Ceramics, Silicone, Cellulose Derivatives, Additive Manufacturing, and Alternative Proteins. The machine can be cleaned thoroughly in a short time when product or batches are changed due to its highly accessible internal arrangement.
