Overview

Roller grinding unit OLFS provides on-site refurbishing of roller surfaces in a flaking mill without removing the rollers. It is described as a rugged, easy-to-mount automatic machine designed to provide precise grinding results comparable to those of a stationary grinding machine. The control unit offers three predefined automatic programs and a manual mode for operation. The grinder was developed specifically for rollers with a diameter of 800 mm and 600 mm. Hardware features include an adjustable speed motor traveling rail to optimize grinding, a hydraulic carrier to lift the unit to the frame of the flaking mill, and a sliding limit switch that enables partial grinding of worn surface areas or focused roller end grinding. The OLFS is used for maintaining flaking and cracking rollers to preserve productivity of flaking mills by refurbishing worn and dull roller surfaces on-site at times convenient for production schedules. It supports targeted repairs such as partial surface grinding and roller end grinding.
