GL 107X

Overview

GL 107X is a live tank circuit breaker for outdoor installation rated from 36 kV up to 40.5 kV and provided with third-generation self-blast interrupter chambers and spring-operated mechanisms. The interrupter chamber operates on the energy-optimized self-blast principle and the design is intended to provide high reliability under extreme conditions and in highly active seismic areas. The breaker is preset and completely assembled at the factory, pre-filled with SF6, and delivered with pole columns, base frame and spring-operated mechanism already mounted. Design and components include operating linkages in one common gas enclosure that forms part of the base frame, only one dynamically stressed seal, insulator flanges sealed with Portland cement, a pressure relief system, an extruded aluminum base frame, a temperature-compensated density monitor with two-stage transducer and three-color dial, easy access to the SF6 filling connection (type DILO), and a spring-operated mechanism with an externally visible position indicator. Key electrical and operational ratings include: - Breaker variants: 36 kV / 50 Hz; 38 kV / 60 Hz; 40.5 kV / 50 Hz. - Rated normal current: up to 2,000 A. - Rated short-circuit breaking current: up to 31.5 kA (36 kV and 40.5 kV variants) and up to 25 kA (38 kV variant). - Rated short-circuit making current: 80 kA (36 kV and 40.5 kV variants) and 65 kA (38 kV variant). - Rated duration of short-circuit: 3 s. - Operating times: opening 29 ms, breaking 50 ms, closing 58 ms. - Average ambient temperature: -30 oC up to +40 oC; design altitude: 1,000 m.a.s.l. The GL 107X is supplied fully assembled and pre-filled to allow quick and easy installation on site and long intervals between maintenance. It is intended for outdoor installations that require high reliability under extreme climates or in highly active seismic areas. The breaker’s pressure relief system provides passive protection of both substation assets and personnel, and the product has been type-tested according to the latest IEC and ANSI standards and produced under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified procedures.
