VAX020 2 kV high voltage amplifier

Overview

The VAX020 2 kV high voltage amplifier is a separate high voltage amplifier that enables capacitance and dissipation factor measurements at 2 kV test voltage. It expands the IDAX300 series instrument test voltage range from 200 V to 2 kV and uses true and proven DFR/FDS technology for highest performance. Technical specifications: Input voltage 100 - 240 V, 50/60 Hz; Max output voltage (AC) 2 kV peak; Max output current (AC) 50 mA (peak) above 50 Hz derating linearly to 30 mA below 10 Hz; Large frequency range DC to 1 kHz; Compact design, weight < 5 kg. The VAX020 enables capacitance and power factor/dissipation factor measurements of power transformers, bushings, instrument transformers (CT/VT), generators and motors, and insulating oil. Besides 50/60 Hz capacitance and power factor/dissipation factor measurements, it measures dielectric response to provide information about the general condition of high voltage insulation and is capable of assessing the moisture content in oil/paper insulation systems. It expands the IDAX300's ability to perform accurate measurements in extreme high interference environments, e.g., HVDC substations.
