Feed5

Overview

Feed5 is a compact handling system that combines with the Micro5 machining center to perform automated loading and unloading. It uses a 6-axis robot to move workpieces fully automatically. A single Feed5 can automate up to two Micro5 machining centers. Built-in functions include workpiece and pallet change, blowing off of fixture and workpiece, and storage for up to 10 pallets. Feed5 is presented within the context of Medical Technology and Precision Technology and is described as an element of a Smartfactory alongside modules such as the coordinate-measuring module Pilot5, laser marker, 3D printer, and cleaning units. Feed5 is used to automate the loading and unloading of Micro5 machining centers, increasing autonomy especially at higher piece counts. The system supports handling of workpieces and pallets, enables blow-off cleaning of fixtures and workpieces, and extends unattended runtime through storage for up to 10 pallets. Feed5 can be integrated as part of a Smartfactory setup together with Pilot5, laser marking, 3D printing, and cleaning modules, and one Feed5 can serve up to two Micro5 centers.
