X7™

Overview

Markforged X7™ is a turnkey industrial carbon fiber 3D printer that combines precision-built hardware, advanced sensors, and leading-edge software to produce strong, reliable parts. The system uses a reinforced, precision-machined gantry and a precision ground print bed that can be removed and replaced with 10 µm repeatability. Each piece of hardware in the filament extrusion system — from the nozzles to the extruder hobs — is optimized to resist wear from micro carbon fiber filled nylon filaments and maintain print quality over thousands of hours. Out of material sensors are included and a scanning laser on the printhead enables dynamic adjustment of the first layers for bed adhesion and inspection of parts after printing. The X7 has a 3rd-generation fiber reinforcement system that enables laying down continuous fiber and is described as capable of printing four types continuous fiber reinforced parts. The X7 is presented as a turnkey solution for producing strong, reliable composite parts using continuous fiber reinforcement. The X7 Field Edition is a ruggedized, field-deployable version designed for tactical response to inventory challenges in remote locations, can be fully set up and ready to print in minutes, and contains materials, spare parts, and tools needed to sustain production between resupply opportunities for armed services, field services, or factory operations.
