Dosing eccentric screws

Overview

The NIMAK eccentric screw metering unit is specially developed for low-viscosity material and uses an endless dosing concept combined with a high-resolution servo motor. The unit is very compact and can be operated on small robots as well as 3-axis gantries with low payloads. A fully electric pump stand/material supply is available to adjust pump pressure precisely to the requirements. A wide variety of low-viscosity materials can be applied, including greases, silicones and PU. Technical details provided for SikaSeal-710 LS: Application temperature 20°C - 35°C; Thickness 1.3 +/- 0.1 g/cm³; Viscosity (ASTM D1092): ca. 350 Pa.s at20 sec-1; Pressure: max. 20 bar input pressure; Application volume: 1,5 ccm to 11 ccm per component. Additional stated features include cost-optimised dosing system for low-viscosity material, control via high-precision servo motor, no filling times necessary due to endless dosing concept, low spare parts inventory due to the compact design of the eccentric screw metering unit, and reduced maintenance because of a lower number of seals compared to classic dosing metering units. The equipment is described for sealing and corrosion protection applications, for example applying sealing materials between components to protect cut edges and avoid crevice corrosion. The system is designed to apply adhesive/sealant beads of approximately ×2 to ×4 mm and seam lengths from 120mm to 840mm. Customer requirements explicitly supported include protection of attachments against crevice corrosion, a cost-optimised low-viscosity metering system with low weight, the ability to operate two metering units via one control and via one material supply, and hose lengths up to 12m to each metering unit.
