Overview

MEDC XB15 5/10/15/21 Joule Explosion Proof Xenon Beacon Range is an explosion-proof xenon beacon available in 5, 10, 15J, 21J and 21J dual tube versions and built around a new universal base. The housing and body are manufactured from UV-stable, glass-reinforced polyester (GRP); the lens is borosilicate glass and the lens cover is polycarbonate (ATEX, IECEx and INMETRO only). The unit includes a supervisory diode, four-wire lead connections, a removable wire lens guard made from 316L stainless steel, and a 316L stainless steel backstrap. Ingress protection is IP66 & 67 and the certified temperature range is -67°F to +185°F, -55°C to +85°C. Optional and configurable features listed for the range include automatic synchronization, swappable lens covers (ATEX and IECEx only), optional remote or telephone initiate (installer configurable, telephone or 24Vdc), pipe mount or direct mount, and multiple entry options. The XB15 is described for reliable visual signaling in hazardous environments, specifically for oil, gas, and petrochemical operations onshore, offshore, or at sea. Users can select lens colour to indicate procedures, processes underway, or emergency alerts, supporting visual indication and alarm integration in those settings.
