QRX

Overview

The QRX is a compact 2 turret CNC turning center with upper and lower turrets designed to enable a significant reduction in cycle time. The machine supports balance cutting and simultaneous left and right machining using the conversational MAZATROL control. The QRX features a space-saving design with A: Width 78.74" and provision for a bar feeder (B). Bar work capacity: QRX-50 SG and QRX-50MY SG have a main spindle capacity of Φ52 mm and no second spindle capacity; QRX-50MS SG and QRX-50MSY SG have Φ52 mm capacity on both main and second spindles. QRX-50MS SG and QRX-50MSY SG list a spindle bore of Φ2.40", a chuck size of 6″, a max. machining diameter of Φ9.65" and a max. machining length of 35.43". QRX-50MSY L lists a spindle bore of Φ2.45", a chuck size of 6″, a max. machining diameter of Φ9.65" and a max. machining length of 35.43". QRX-50 SG lists a spindle bore of Φ61 mm, a chuck size of 8″, a max. machining diameter of Φ245 mm and a max. machining length of 552 mm. QRX-50MY SG lists a spindle bore of Φ2.40", a chuck size of 8″, a max. machining diameter of Φ9.65" and a max. machining length of 21.73". QRX-50MY L lists a spindle bore of Φ61 mm, a chuck size of 8″, a max. machining diameter of Φ245 mm and a max. machining length of 552 mm. Automation and tooling features include optional bar feeders, workpiece unloaders, and an automatic parts catcher; the bucket attached to the lower turret transports finished products from the first spindle and the second spindle (for MS and MSY) as well as bar remnants. For QRX-50MS SG and QRX-50MSY SG the workpiece unloader can be specified as a hand type or a bucket type and allows removal of the finished product on the second spindle while the main spindle is processing. A 12 station drum turret (24 positions) is standard, using the BMT45 tool holder standard with holders mountable 180° reversibly. The CNC system is MAZATROL SmoothG with a large touch screen and a two-column display for turret-dedicated operation, and the control provides Virtual Machining, a Safety Shield 3D interference check, inter-grid single block operation, override synchronized operation, and manual pulse handle operation. QRX-50 SG and QRX-50MY SG are described for simultaneous machining with upper and lower turrets to enable efficient mass-production machining of shaft shapes. QRX-50MS SG and QRX-50MSY SG use a 2 turret and 2 spindle construction that allows simultaneous left and right hand machining for efficient mass-production machining of bar shapes. A variety of automation equipment including bar feeders, workpiece unloaders (hand or bucket type), and an Auto parts catcher are optionally available to enable long-term automatic operation, and on MS/MSY models the finished product on the second spindle can be removed while the main spindle is processing to allow continuous automatic operation without impairing cycle time.
