Agile P15D

Overview

The Agile P15D is a dual-powered non-directional overcurrent and earth fault relay. It can operate CT only or as a dual-powered relay and energizes from the line current transformers in the same way that induction-disc IDMT relays derive their operating power. The main protection functions are timed and instantaneous phase and earth fault protection, with up to 3 independent stages available. The relay also provides thermal overload, cold load pickup, inrush blocking and multiple setting groups. The P15D combines measurement, protection and monitoring in one box, includes a front USB port for local communication, and is described as cost effective with a compact size. An internal battery maintains the LCD and communication during faults and allows substation staff to power-up the relay for interrogation when the feeder is de-energized. Security and operational integrity features include password protection, extensive self-supervision and internal diagnostics, and the relay places minimal burden on the substation battery when the feeder is energized. The Agile P15D provides protection for applications where no external auxiliary power is available or where the auxiliary supply does not guarantee the dependability required for protection applications. It is designed for MV/LV industrial installations, distribution network substations and more specifically for RMU networks for protection and monitoring purposes. The relay may also be applied for direct refurbishment of substations using older induction-disc IDMT overcurrent relays because the P15D energizes from the line current transformers in the same way the disc relay derived its operating power source from the CTs only.
