Overview

ECOPRESS 102 is a metallographic programmable automatic mounting press with advanced software and a coloured 7" HMI touch screen LCD for controls. Operation is electrohydraulic and programmable, and the unit requires no air. Maximum pressure is 300 bar and maximum temperature is 200 C. Heating power is 1650 W delivered by five separate heating resistances; if one resistance fails the remaining four can continue operation. Water cooling and a slow cooling mode are provided, and three cooling modes are available as “Standard”, “Slow” and “Based on Time”. Mould assemblies range from 25 mm to 50 mm in diameter and can be changed easily without replacing the heating & cooling unit. Intermediate rams allow producing two mounts simultaneously and optional chamfered rams provide a beveled face around the mounted specimen. Stand-by temperature keeps the mould warm to shorten the next mounting operation. Size is 36x 55x 48 cm and weight is 38 kg; Order No: 25 11, Model No: ECOPRESS 102. The machine uses a robust bayonet closure with a double click self-alignment system and a heat-insulated bayonet closure to prevent heat injuries. There is no gap between bottom ram and mould to prevent possible finger injuries, and an emergency stop button is provided for operator safety. Factory-set pre-programmed moulding sequences are built in and all mounting parameters can be set and stored under a program number, including programmable pre-heating and programmable pre-loading features. ECOPRESS 102 is used to produce metallographic mounts automatically by placing the sample in the mould, selecting a factory-set program number, and starting the cycle. The programmable pre-heating feature supports mounting of pressure-sensitive specimens, and the programmable pre-loading feature is used to obtain gap-free mounts for porous specimens. Using intermediate rams enables mounting two specimens at the same time, and optional chamfered rams are used to create a beveled face around the mounted specimen.
