Primatics PXL43B

Overview

The Primatics PXL43B Series is a small form factor, high precision linear motion stage. Travel options are 25, 85, 115, and 150 millimeter, driven by an ironless linear motor and measured by a precision linear encoder with index at the center of travel. Bearings include an anti-creep cage, cross-roller, and linear bearings to produce smooth, flat, straight motion. Repeatability tolerances are stated as +/-0.1 um and to within +/-0.5 um, and accuracy is stated as Accurate to within +/-.3 um. Forward and reverse limit sensors are standard; multiple resolutions and clock frequencies are available and a 1 Vpp analog version is offered. Two PXL43B units can be directly stacked for an XY configuration with a total height of 86 millimeters, and the smaller PXL33 can be stacked on a PXL43B. Optional accessories include a pneumatic counterbalance adjustable for the payload after installation and a mapping option that provides data from laser interferometer measurements to generate position correction information along the entire travel. The PXL43B is described as ideal for use in applications for precision assembly and inspection, and its compact size is noted as ideal for space constrained applications. Its ironless linear motor and high resolution encoder yield extremely smooth motion for precise scanning applications. Process corrections are possible thanks to the PXL43B’s industry leading ability to make nanometer-level steps. An optional pneumatic counterbalance is available for use in vertical applications.
