Overview

Model: Industrial Heat Treat Furnace. The CI Hayes modular vacuum furnace is described as a continuous vacuum, modular heat treat furnace that may be combined with other furnaces and auxiliary equipment such as parts washers, temper ovens, and transfer mechanisms (material handling). The furnace may be designed to work with auxiliary equipment in layouts including in-line continuous configurations or in parallel configurations. Automation is supplied with a programmable control system paired with an HMI interface for selection of workload recipes. Supported metallurgical processes include Annealing, Brazing, Carbonitriding, Carburizing, Hardening, Quenching, and Sintering. 6 advantages of continuous vacuum processing versus standard alternatives: - Higher throughput & utilization: loading and unloading do not interfere with processing and several loads can be staged at once, with automatic indexing to improve quality control. - Improved thermal efficiency: the heating portion is held at temperature so only the mass of the work is heated and cooled, reducing energy consumption and cycle time. - Higher purity: the heating portion held under vacuum and at temperature allows gas development rates from outgassing and desorption to decay to very low levels, reducing contamination. - Reduced maintenance: reduced thermal cycling leads to less thermal wear on consumable refractory materials, lowering spare part cost and maintenance downtime. - Improved part repeatability: smaller load sizes produce a more uniform thermal profile for parts without sacrificing throughput. - Improved scalability & work handling integration: smaller loads reduce footprint for loading/unloading and ease integration with automated production facilities.
