Ultra® XR Closed-Top Open Front (CTOF)

Overview

Ultra® XR Closed-Top Open Front (CTOF) is an automotive prep booth in the Ultra XR product family offered through Global Finishing Systems, configured as a closed-top, open-front (CTOF) booth. The CTOF layout combines an enclosed ceiling for overhead containment with an open front for direct access to vehicles and large components. The unit is intended specifically for surface-preparation tasks such as sanding, cleaning and other pre-paint operations on vehicle bodies, panels and subassemblies. The closed-top design provides overhead containment of dust and debris while the open front supports drive-in/drive-through access and unobstructed operator workflow. As a production-scale booth module, the Ultra XR CTOF is intended to be installed into manufacturing or refinish line layouts and to work in series with downstream painting or curing systems and facility ventilation. The model emphasizes containment and access characteristics relevant to industrial automotive prep operations. Typical use cases include industrial automotive body and parts preparation prior to paint or coating operations: sanding and feathering repaired areas, surface cleaning, masking and inspection of panels and subassemblies. The open-front access supports staging and handling of full-size vehicles, vehicle bodies, large panels or assemblies in a production or heavy-refinish environment. In factory settings the CTOF configuration is used where overhead containment of dust is required but frequent, unobstructed access from the front is also needed; it is suited to integration into paint shop workflows, transfer conveyors or drive-through production cells to feed subsequent spray booths or ovens. The design supports continuous production or batch processing scenarios common to OEM assembly, contract finishers and large-scale collision repair operations within an industrial facility.
