Product Presentation: Barrel Emptying System ViscoMT-XS (Drum Emptying System)

Overview

The Barrel Emptying System ViscoMT-XS is a barrel/drum emptying system for the Business Unit “Food & Pharma” with a volumetric conveying pump based upon the endless piston principle. It is designed for medium to high viscosity products (up to 7,000,000 mPas!) and is suited for abrasive, shear sensitive, solid loaded and lumpy media. A special lip seal on the follower plate neatly wipes the inner barrel wall, and the nearly pressureless guiding of the follower plate prevents pressing of the product at the sides. Emptying speed is electronically adjustable, conveying/emptying is pulsation free, residue in the barrel is < 1%, and the unit has a compact design and simple handling. Optional equipment includes two-point-pressure-control by a second pressure sensor at the end of the hose; frame and base plate made of mild steel powder coated; dosing control ViscoDos 3; a special design for clean room class A; a red-yellow-green signal lamp (also available with buzzer); pump actuation by AC-servo drive; and alternative stator elastomers in FDA quality (FKM, EPDM). The ViscoMT-XS is used for removal of products directly out of the transport or storage container, for example tomato paste, honey, fats, glacé icing, mascara, lip gloss, cremes, Vaseline®, ointments, gels and a lot more. It supports pressure regulated or level controlled feeding of the products to filling machines or mixing processes and enables direct dosing out of the bin using a dosing control.
