Model Overview & Specs
Overview
The Ribbon and Paddle Blender (A&M) offers multiple agitator design options including Double Ribbon, Interrupted Outer Ribbon, Ribbon Paddle, Paddle, and Twin Shaft Ribbon. Agitator drive options include Shaft-mounted and Foot-mounted configurations. Discharge options include Manual Discharge and Pneumatic Discharge, and available valve types include Ball, Butterfly, Curved Slide Gate, Flat Slide Gate, Flush Contour, Iris Diaphragm, Paddle, Plug, and Spherical Disc. Shaft seal choices include Air Purge Packing Gland, Mechanical Face Seal, MECOTM Modular Seal, Sanitary Packing Gland, Split, and Standard Packing Gland, and jacket options include Dimpled Jacket and Labyrith Jacket. Paddle blender options list High Speed Chopper and other agitator/jacket/automatic lid or tipping blender options. The blender shell is a one-piece, all welded U-shaped construction with radiused corners, and the ribbon assembly is a three-piece construction with bolted coupling flanges for removal of the center ribbon section through the shell top. Agitators are supported on self-aligning, roller bearings in outboard pillow block housings, shafts are sealed with a stuffing box packing gland, and the entire blender is supported on heavy, tubular legs with cross ties. Batch working capacities range from 1 cubic foot to 380 cubic feet for light, medium and heavy duty blending of powders, pastes, emulsions, and liquids. Construction materials include sanitary stainless steel, carbon steel, abrasion resistant steel, and other special nickel alloys. Sanitary construction details include continuous interior welds radiused to a 1/4" minimum and ground smooth to a No. 4 (180 grit) finish. Agitators are one-piece, solid round bar construction. Shaft seals are split design for ease of maintenance, constructed entirely of stainless steel, and supplied with either FDA approved Teflon braided packing or Pure PTFE Chevron seals. Equipment is fully passivated after fabrication and material certifications are supplied. A&M Ribbon and Paddle Blenders are used for Food, Dairy, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Plastics, and other industry processing. They blend powders, pastes, emulsions, and liquids in batch capacities from 1 cubic foot to 380 cubic feet. The balanced ribbon design provides constant and complete mixing while minimizing product build up and degradation by using tumbling, shearing, and horizontal displacement; outer ribbons convey material to the center/discharge while inner ribbons move material in the opposite direction for end-to-end mixing. Paddle agitators lift, scoop, and tumble materials in a gentle but thorough "figure 8" mixing action, which the description identifies as ideal for mixing fragile or abrasive ingredients and for mixing solids or liquids of various particle size, share and density.
