Overview

SVC is an X-axis linear motor driven traveling column Vertical machining center equipped for high-speed machining. The machine is supplied with a standard tool shank of CAT No.40 and a high-speed, high-power spindle with a revolution speed of 15000 min-1 (rpm) and an output of 22 kW (30 HP); a 25000 rpm HSK-A63 spindle is available as an option. The X-axis linear motor provides a rapid traverse of 4724 IPM and a cutting feed of 1181 IPM to enable high-speed feedrate and high positioning accuracy over long strokes. Table sizes are SVC-2000L/120: 133.86" × 20.08" and SVC-2000L/200: 212.6" × 20.08"; the machine uses a fixed long table combined with the traveling column to accommodate long workpieces, multiple-workpiece setups and 2-pallet changer type operation. Control is via the touch screen CNC system MAZATROL SmoothG with a tiltable operation touch panel, support for QUICK MAZATROL interactive programming, SMOOTH MACHINING CONFIGURATION with slider switches, and a pocket milling cycle that maintains a constant angle of engagement during pocket milling. The SVC supports high-speed machining of non-ferrous materials using its BT40/CAT No.40 high-speed, high-power spindle running at 15000 min-1 (rpm) and 22 kW (30 HP) output, with a 25000 rpm HSK-A63 spindle offered as an option. Its fixed long table and traveling column enable long workpiece machining, multiple workpiece setups and 2-pallet changer type operation, including machining of large workpieces that overhang the stationary table. MAZATROL SmoothG with QUICK MAZATROL interactive programming allows programs to be created and edited via the operation screen, enabling even inexperienced operators to make programs quickly, and the SMOOTH MACHINING CONFIGURATION plus pocket milling cycle support efficient pocket milling and adjustable machining features.
