Overview

The Modular DC Electronic Load LED Simulator — Chroma 6310/A simulates LED characteristics with increased bandwidth to allow for PWM dimming testing. Power Rating: 200W/30W & 250W/300W/600W/1200W; Voltage Range: 0~500V; Current Range: 0~20A. The 6310A series offers 12 different modules with power ratings from 20 watts to 1,200 watts, current ratings from 0.5mA to 240A, and voltage ratings from 0.5mV to 600V. Each load module integrates microprocessor capabilities and connects power MOSFET devices in parallel to provide high accuracy load control with a minimum drift of less than 0.1% +0.1% F.S. of the current setting, and uses FET technology to provide minimum input resistance and enable sinking high current at very low voltages. The load module uses a photo coupler for isolation between the output and control sections so each load is isolated and floating; operating modes include constant current, constant voltage, constant power and constant resistance; additional features include parallel load modules for high current/power, synchronization of multiple loads, remote sensing capability and self-test at power-on, and built-in OCP test functions with front-panel parameters. The Chroma 6310A is intended for the test and evaluation of multi-output AC/DC power supplies, DC/DC converters, chargers and power electronic components, and is designed for use in research and development, production, and incoming inspection. It supports PWM dimming testing for LEDs, can simulate a battery charger by operating in constant voltage, and provides automated OCP testing by allowing the user to set start current, end current, step current and dwell time and automatically detect the OCP point.
