SMD 3 S - EDITION

Overview

The SMD 3 S-Edition is a universal dry grinding and deburring machine for thin sheet metal that uses several round brushes to enable edge rounding and directionless finishing. It removes excess burrs and the oxide layer on one side while producing a surface finish and edge rounding up to a radius of 2 mm. Materials explicitly supported include stainless steel, steel, aluminum and non-ferrous parts, and edges can be rounded over the entire working width of the machine. The machine features a constant (stationary) table height, an intuitive high-end touch panel, the ability to switch processing units on and off separately, automatic positioning of tool axes, program memory for automatic machine settings, a fast tool-changing system, a window in the machine doors for process monitoring, and a space-saving design that requires 30% less installation space. The SMD 3 S-Edition is described as ideal for processing laser and punched parts and for deburring small thin sheet metal parts. It is supported for removal of excess burrs and oxide layer on one side, for producing a good surface finish, and for edge rounding up to 2 mm radius. The machine can efficiently process small parts down to 50x50 mm, handle sheets with coating, laser foil, imprints or punched-out holes, and supports simultaneous processing of different material thicknesses when equipped with E-units; options allow automation and integration into production lines.
