Induction Preheater

Overview

The Induction Preheater is a compact, open-air induction heater for strip processing lines. It is used to preheat the strip prior to a reversing or tandem mill, a pickling section, or a furnace. The equipment is removable from the line to allow easy insertion of the strip into the mill. Ajax TOCCO Magnethermic Corporation Quality Certificate: ISO 9001:2015, valid until December 2028. For reversing or tandem mills, the preheater is used to preheat electrical steel, especially grades with high silicon content, to avoid cracking as these grades are very brittle. When used prior to pickling, preheating the strip improves pickling efficiency, allows a shorter acid tank and lower water consumption to clean the strip, and is described as an eco-friendly solution. The equipment’s removable design facilitates easy insertion of the strip into the mill.
