Design Envelope Fire Pump

Overview

The Design Envelope Fire Pump is a factory-built integrated fire pump unit consisting of pump, driver, and variable speed control unit, designed, assembled, and tested to meet the Self-Regulating Variable Speed Fire Pump Unit as described in NFPA 20 – 2025 Edition. It is configured to maintain the set pressure until the maximum pump brake horsepower is reached while acting as a variable speed pressure limiting control and/or a variable speed suction limiting control. Performance is provided in 50 Hz and 60 Hz designs with a range of 300 USGPM - 1500 USGPM, and a power range Minimum – 20 Hp (50 Hz) 30 Hp (60 Hz) and Maximum – 100 Hp (50 Hz) 125 Hp (60 Hz); maximum ambient temperature is + 50°C. Materials include a Ductile Iron Casing, packed seals, and a Stainless Steel or Bronze Impeller, with material chosen at the manufacturer's discretion to optimize performance, and the product is UL and ULC Listed with a fire pump controller starting type of Across the line. Applications listed for this unit include Warehouses, Data Centers, High Rise Buildings, Pharma companies, and Retrofit opportunities. The product is positioned to support sprinkler system designs with reduced reliance on pressure reducing valves, to accommodate varying suction pressure, to enable space savings in the pump room, and to reduce system maintenance costs by requiring fewer PRVs and less system testing. It also provides electronic data capture, recorded test data, pump analytics, timely notifications, and condition-based maintenance for transparency of operating performance.
