S41

Overview

The S41 is a CNC universal cylindrical grinding machine for large workpieces. Distances between centres are 1000mm (40") and 1600mm (63"), and centre heights are 225mm (8.8") and 275mm (10.8"). The machine can handle workpieces with a maximum weight of 250kg (550lbs). Hardware features listed for the S41 include the StuderGuide® guide system with linear drive, high-precision axis drives with linear motors, an extremely fast direct drive of the B-axis, a turret wheelhead with direct drive and 0.00005°resolution, complete machining with up to four grinding wheels, a C-axis for the workhead for form and thread grinding, a C.O.R.E. The machine supports complete machining with up to four grinding wheels and form and thread grinding via a C-axis for the workhead.
