V90S

Overview

The V90S is a vertical machining center and a five-axis continuous processing platform designed for large die/mold part machining. It features a tilting/rotating spindle that positions the tool tip to provide optimum contact with the workpiece, extending tool life, providing outstanding surface finishes and minimizing post machining hand processes. Table: 2,000 mm x 1,300 mm with X: 2,000 mm Y: 1,300 mm Z: 800 mm (78.73" x 51.18"; X: 78.7" Y: 51.2" Z: 31.5"). The machine is outfitted with the Makino Professional 6 control providing a stable, secure NC platform with a large color touch-sensitive, on-screen, menu-driven GUI that includes PC-like functions such as cut, paste, copy, find and replace. Advanced data management technology and Makino’s proprietary Super Geometric Intelligence (SGI.5) servo control reduce machining cycle times on dies, complex cavities and cores by as much as 40 percent when compared to most other control technologies. The V90S is described for use on large, complex specialty dies and molds and for high-speed finish machining of complex, multifaceted, 3-D contours typical of dies and molds. It cuts cycle times and reduces post-machining handwork on dies, complex cavities and cores, achieving up to a 40 percent reduction in machining cycle times compared to most other control technologies.
