Overview

4700 Vertical Multistage (VMS) Pumps are high-efficiency vertical multistage pumps with a space-saving design and stainless-steel hydraulics, engineered for high pressure, reliability, and energy optimization. Motors are NEMA-premium and suitable for inverter-fed service, and the pumps feature quiet operation, low maintenance and long service life. Materials and configuration include stainless steel hydraulics, casing in stainless steel for VMS10 and below or cast iron for VMS and larger, low axial thrust impellers, and a silicon carbide cartridge type mechanical shaft seal that can be replaced without disassembling the motor bracket. Additional features include anti-erosion measures in high-velocity areas of the intermediate pump casing, square-edge 6 and 12 spline shaft design, casing venting to prevent air entrapment and dry running, tungsten carbide pump bearings and silicon carbide mechanical seal seat, and a flexible floating outer casing to compensate for differing temperature applications. Performance range reaches up to 450 USgpm (102 m3/hr) flow and up to 370 psi (22 bar) pressure; temperature range is -22°F to +248°F (-30°C to 120°C); power range is 0.5 hp to 60 hp (0.37 kW to 45 kW); available sizes are 1.25" to 4" (38 mm to 100 mm). Applications explicitly listed are systems requiring low to medium flow-high head such as domestic water pressure boosting, fire safety ("jockey" pumps), boiler feed water, and cooling tower make up water.
