Sodick Inc.
Model Overview & Specs
Overview
The AQ750L Wire EDM Machine features Sodick’s Linear Motor Technology with flat rigid linear motor drives and glass scale feedback on the X, Y, U and V axes. Linear motors provide smooth, vibration-free table movement, eliminate backlash by removing ball-screws and couplings, and are backed by a 10-Year Positioning Accuracy Guarantee. X-Axis Travel: 29.53" (750 mm). Y axis travel: 19.68" (500 mm). Z-Travel: 15.75" (400 mm). U v axis travel: 30.31" x 20.47" (770 x 520 mm). Wire diameter range min max: 0.006" ~ 0.012" (0.15 ~ 0.30 mm). Work tank dimensions w d: 49.76" x 38.31" (1,264 x 973 mm). Maximum workpiece weight: 3,307 lbs (1,500 kg). Distance from Floor to Table: 39.37" (1,000 mm). Machine Tool Dimensions: 82.68" x 110.24" x 92.52" (2,100 x 2,800 x 2,350 mm). Machine weight: 11,684 lbs (5,300 kg). The product description also states it can machine workpieces up to 3,000 kg in weight. Features include Super Jet Annealing High Speed AWT, Ceramic Components, Wire Tip Disposal Unit, Advanced Corner Control, Automatic Tension Servo Control, FTII (Precision Pick-Up Function), High Speed Electrolysis-Free Power Supply, USB and LAN Connection Port, Remote Hand Control and Mouse, Energy Saving Circuit, Dielectric Cooling Unit, Built-In Voltage Stabilizer, Motion Controller (K-SMC), on-board Heart NC software, and 3D CAD file import. Optional equipment and services listed include Sodick Rotary Table (WS4P or WS5P) and SodickCare +2 or +4 Extended Warranty. The LN Series control runs on a Windows platform, is network capable via LAN option, and automatically generates cutting conditions, offsets, corner control settings, wire speed and wire tension. The machine supports submerged machining, includes a Dielectric Cooling Unit, and the manufacturer states energy-saving designs can reduce average energy consumption by up to 60% compared to conventional Wire EDMs. Precision Wire Tensioning measures the actual wire tension just prior to the cutting zone and Thermal Commit (TH COM) senses component temperatures and minimizes thermal displacement. The AQ750L supports submerged machining to enhance cutting performance where flushing conditions are poor and for workpieces that are irregular in shape or that require taper angles. The fixed table design is presented as allowing heavier workpieces to be machined without affecting table positioning or workpiece accuracy. The LN Series control automatically generates cutting conditions, offsets, corner control settings, wire speed and wire tension, a capability the manufacturer describes as especially helpful to novice EDM operators.
