Raymond® Vertical Mill

Overview

The Raymond® Vertical Mill is a high-speed air swept swing hammer mill adapted to the grinding of non-metallic minerals and manufactured materials in the extreme fineness range. It applies Raymond®'s principle of integral air classification to the mill. Many materials can be reduced to 95% to 99% passing 15 to 20 microns while others with smaller crystalline structure can be ground as fine as 95% to 99% passing 5 to 10 microns. Typical materials processed include graphite, limestone, cocoa powder, marble, kaolin, sugar, talc, certain synthetic resins, organic and inorganic colors, phosphate, chemicals, glass, enamel, food products and pharmaceuticals. Design and maintenance features include a unit that swings open easily for inspection, cleaning and maintenance, easy replacement of wear parts, compact design requiring little floor space, and simple straightforward operation. The mill is available with integral flash drying or a water-cooled grinding chamber and provides uniform particle size. Used to pulverize and grind non-metallic minerals and manufactured materials to extreme fineness ranges, achieving uniform particle size distributions as fine as 95% to 99% passing 5 to 10 microns or 15 to 20 microns. Suitable for processing the listed typical materials and for applications in the Chemicals; Food & Pet Food; Pharmaceutical; and Minerals industries. The mill can be specified with integral flash drying or a water-cooled grinding chamber for processes requiring those features.
