Model Overview & Specs
Overview
The Stratoplex ASP II is an air classifier for high throughputs in the fine to medium-fine separation range of d97 = 10 to 150 µm and delivers high fines yield with high precision of cut and high loading. The machine concept has been optimised for reduced wear and lower energy requirements, with wear protection provided by ceramic coating on both sides and an overall low energy demand. The optimised design allows the speed to be reduced by up to 20 % compared to the previous model to achieve the same fineness; at unchanged speed the optimised separator wheel enables finer separation, and changing the classifier wheel permits finenesses not previously achievable. Drive is fitted underneath the classifying zone and the feed product is introduced centrally from above; the feed unit charges the centrifugal plate of the classifying wheel, which distributes and catapults the product radially to the baffle ring and into the classifying zone. Classifying air enters the spiral housing and flows centripetally through the helical vanes of the vane ring and the classifying wheel, entraining the fines to the fines discharge where they must be separated in a downstream collection device (cyclone, filter), while coarse material is rejected by the classifying wheel and falls into the lower section. The coarse material discharge must be air-sealed by a rotary valve and rinsing air (drawn in automatically or supplied under pressure) prevents unclassified product migrating into the fines through the gap between the classifying wheel and the labyrinth seal. The classifying wheel is usually driven via a V-belt drive with a fixed transmission ratio and the classifier speed can be set by a frequency converter; the classifier is delivered complete with filter, fan and cyclone. Fineness d97 air volume reduced to 80 % (µm): 10 | 11 | 12 | 14 | 15 | 17 | 18 | 20. The Stratoplex ASP II is used for fine to medium-fine separation tasks with d97 = 10 to 150 µm and is intended for applications requiring high throughput and high fines yield at precise cut points. It is explicitly used for processing feldspar, quartz, nepheline and wollastonite. A special version of the Stratoplex ASP classifier is manufactured for screening products that tend to clog, such as hydrated lime. The classifier can be operated in through-air mode or circuit-air mode with approx. 10 % leakage air.
