Doble Universal Controller (DUC)

Overview

The Doble Universal Controller (DUC) is a special-purpose field controller offered in both laptop and tablet form factors for portable and workstation-style use. It features a bright, transreflective display that allows operation even in full sunlight and is specified to provide the processing power necessary to run advanced software in the field. The unit includes a full suite of interfaces in order to connect even to legacy equipment, enabling direct integration with existing test systems. Mechanical and environmental design are rugged: it is built to withstand the same tough requirements of Doble’s test equipment, is impenetrable to dust and debris, withstands typical operational drops, and operates across a wide temperature range of -30°F to 140°F. Designed for on‑site test and control tasks, the DUC is used as the controller for field testing, data acquisition and running advanced diagnostic software where portable but powerful hardware is required. Its range of interfaces supports connection to legacy test instruments, making it suitable for retrofit, upgrade and interoperability use cases.
